Gnananada Seva Samajam has been active in Canada since 60’s or 70’s. Pada Pooja to Guruji and Swami’s Padukas on the auspicious day of Full Moon (Pournami) has been practiced in Canada by Smt.
Vijaya and Shri P.S. Narayanan. They have been spreading Nama Sankeerthanam in Canada through bhajans and Radha Kalyanam. Others who have been instrumental along with them are Smt. Shanta and Shri Krishnamurthy as well as Prof. Lakshminaraya and his wife. We are fortunate enough to continue the services rendered by these devotees of Swami and Guruji. We have been doing abishekham to Guruji’s Padukas with Dinasari Vazhipaadu and chanting of Lalitha Sahasranama since 2005. On September 16, 2006 Vijaya Mami gave us Guruji’s paadukas which were given to them by Guruji at Sant Gnaneshwar’s samadi in Alandi.

In this materialistic, commercial, and individualist world, it is very difficult to attain the lotus feet of God through means followed in other yugas like Dhyanam (meditation), Yagnam (rituals), and Pujas alone.
Namasankeerthanam or chanting the name of God was envisaged as the simplest means to attain His lotus feet by Sri Shukabrahmam in Srimad Bhagavatham. Another important necessity to reaching enlightment is to have a proper Guru, without which a person, however learned he might be, cannot obtain the divine blessings. Our elders rightly stated in Tamil: “Pannarum vedhangal padithu unarndhalum Guru arul illayel Thiruvarul Illai.“ Radhekrishna!

Celebrating it's first annual inauguration, we are humbled by the grace of Swami to complete a successful 2012 Namasankeerthanam Mela and to initiate Namacha Bazaar. |
